  • Bio

I play the ancient Indian musical instrument called Veena. I have been trained since my childhood in the intricacies of Indian Classical Music- first Khayal, Sitar and Tabla and then Dhrupad and Veena. I first strummed a Veena and the Surbahar in the house of my Khayal teacher in 1985 and got hooked on to it since then. A week long tour with Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar to Nainital in 1988 initiated me into the Dagar School of Dhrupad. I came in contact with Ustad Fariduddin Dagar in 1998-99 in Noida in the house of my teacher Nirmalya Dey . Since then I have been taking guidance from both of them on Veena and Dhrupad. .. .. .. .. .. .. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a traditional Dhrupad style stage performance featuring a 28 minute long elaboration of Raga called 'Malgunji' . It is a difficult Raga and is not often heard in the concert circuits. Just relax, take a cup of coffee and listen to the music - .. .. .. .. .. ......Indian Classical Music Rudra Veena.... I have been influenced by the intricate exposition of the sacred Ragas through the technique of Alaap, Jod and Jhala by my teachers Ustad Fariduddin Dagar and Nirmalya Dey. Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar was the main influencing factor in channelizing me towards Dhrupad and Veena. I consider the Sitar maestro Nikhil Banerjee as the greatest Indian Classical Music instrumentalist apart from Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar. The sound of Saraswati Veena and Carnatic music enchants me. I have learnt Gwalior Khayal , Thumris, Taranas and Tappas. Surbahar is my other passion.

Hello how are you? I wanted to let you know that I have just finished the yoga, meditation & relaxation album titled “Surrender of The Mind”

Surrender of The Mind is written for those of us who need to get away. Maybe we have had a tough day at work. Maybe we have studied hard. Maybe we need to reflect on certain events in our lives. Maybe we just need a moment to clear our minds and re-set our mental strength. No matter what the reason is, there comes a time when we all need to surrender our minds.

This album takes you on a musical journey like no other. Capturing the ancient sounds of panpipes, tabla, bells, sitar and many other ambient resonances for those who wish to achieve a higher state of consciousness, greater focus and self-awareness through yoga & meditation, or simply to accomplish a more relaxed and peaceful state of mind.

Please come on my profile and listen to the album, I am sure it will take you away from the mad world we are living in at the moment.

Let me know what you think of it, I look forward to your reply.

The full version of Surrender of The Mind is available on all download sites including iTunes and Amazon.

Hello, thanks a lot for your support here

Perhaps you want to know something more about my person and my art-work:
PranaBoy is an independent one-man company. Not profit-driven. Just for being myself.
I'm an artist since 20 years, doing my own unique art, design and fashion.
Since two years i'm trying to promote this special style via the internet,
spreading some cosmic vibrations out to the world.
I think myspace is a great place to find people, who are interested in some really special art works...
this kind of Tee-Design is more...minimalistic symbolic communication without the borders of language...
open minded expressions in an individual way of creativity...

So what do you think...please give me a little help:
Comment on some of my designs here, would be great to know, what artworks are the most wanted.

    All the best...Sven / PranaBoy
