It has been a while since I have written my own blog here .. thanking the fact it will only be a short one :)
I have recently created a photography group on Facebook .. If anyone here has a page there I would really appreciate you adding me and leaving your comments and any thoughts you may have.
I am still at the very start of this whole process and it will be years before my pictures are anywhere near perfect.
Still, it is something I enjoy and something I hope that other people will enjoy and appreciate :)
During Canada's annual seal massacre, hundreds of thousands of baby seals are shot or have their skulls crushed, all for the sake of "fashion." Sealers routinely hook seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the pelt, then drag the seals across the ice, in many cases without checking to ensure that they are unconscious.
The 2009 seal slaughter has ended, but PETA's campaign to stop the massacre permanently has just begun. It's clear that the Canadian seal slaughter is quickly losing favor and support: This year, about three-fourths of the seals who were scheduled to be bludgeoned or shot to death were spared. But we still need your help to make sure Canada doesn't think the protests will end just because the killing slowed.
Please join us on calling on the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee to use its clout to help stop the Canadian seal slaughter. A few minutes of your time will make a huge difference for baby seals.

Roxana Saberi is an American journalist who has been imprisoned in Iran since late January. She was first arrested for purchasing wine (which is illegal in Iran) and held without charges for over a month. On April 8 she was suddenly charged with espionage and on April 18, based on a closed, one day trial, Ms. Saberi was sentenced to eight years in prison for spying for the United States, a charge the White House denies as "baseless."
Amnesty International has condemned Ms. Saberi's conviction and sentencing. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says, "she should be freed immediately." The evidence against Ms. Saberi has never been made public.
Ms. Saberi is starting her second week of a hunger strike which she plans to continue until she is released. Her family worries for her health and safety.
