Bio
Comprised of sisters Sally & Natalie Joiner Wolfhound are from North Somerset in the South West of England. They write and play their own songs, based loosely around lead electric, twelve-string acoustic and electric/acoustic bass guitars. They also perform fully acoustic unplugged versions of many of their songs for quieter venues. Wolfhound have been compared to the likes of The Pierces, Tegan and Sara and Veronica Falls. They wrote their first song, Harder to Breathe, together as Wolfhound in 2010. Since then they have been making a name for themselves playing open mic & showcase events on the acoustic circuit throughout Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. In 2012 they have so far performed at the Bristol Folk Festival, The Keynsham Music Festival, The Bristol Harbour Festival, The Bristol Balloon Fiesta , played their first national tour support (Peter Grant at The Fleece, Bristol) and played to a sell-out crowd at The Fleece , Bristol in support of local legend Gaz Brookfield. They have also played live on BBC Radio Bristol, BCfm and Gloss FM radio stations. Despite their young ages they are very ambitious and professional in their approach to their music and performances. They self released their first EP Empty Lighthouse at the end of 2011 and are currently working on new songs and recording a new EP. Sally is 17 years old and currently studying for a Music Practice Diploma at Weston College. In Wolfhound she sings, plays electric lead and acoustic guitars and provides percussion using a Logarhythm stompbox. Her musical influences include The White Stripes, Kings Of Leon, Mumford and Sons and Radiohead. Natalie is 15 years old and currently studying for her GCSEs at school. In Wolfhound she sings, plays twelve-string & six-string acoustic guitars, electric and acoustic bass guitars and electric guitar. Her influences include Muse, Paolo Nutini, Lissie, The Killers, Suzanne Vega and Taylor Swift. -
