The end of 2012 (and the world, Mayans?) is upon us and it’s time to take a look back at all the movies that have excited us, terrified us and entertained us throughout the year. It’s been (mostly) a good year for movies, with box office records being smashed and new stars emerging from the silver screen. So, let’s take a look at the best movies of 2012 and see which movies we think shine above the rest.

Funny or Die

With Skyfall having the best opening weekend in James Bond movie history, Bond is certainly in the center of pop culture right now. The people at Funny or Die put together a great fake Bond movie called To Have and To Gold starring Chris Kattan that features a (sort of) action-packed pre-credits sequence and the iconic opening credits that is essentially one of those “literal lyric” videos that narrates exactly what’s happening as a theme song plays in the background. Longtime Bond fans will certainly be amused. Check it out below!

Skyfall is already garnering buzz as one of, if not the best Bond films ever. The third such film with Daniel Craig as 007, it also features an unbelievable (albeit extremely creepy) Javier Bardem with a performance that will certainly go down as one of the best movie villains of all time. We met up with the duo as well as Bond girls Bérénice Marlohe and Naomi Harris for another installment of Fanswers. After asking them your questions, we learned what they thought about James Bond meeting the Queen at the London Olympics, what it’s like to be a Bond girl, and of course, what it’s like to shave Daniel Craig’s face. We also found out that everyone’s favorite Bond gadget is the car, with the exeption of Javier Bardem, who chose the Martini.
