LaBeouf's Accent, Violence, and Nudity in Red-Band Trailer for 'Lawless'

We’ve seen a lot of marketing materials for Lawless: posters, photos, trailers, all of the normal stuff. But this red-band trailer is, without a doubt, the best thing the campaign has brought us so far. The slow burn of how this story unfolds works really well, and it almost looks like an entirely different film than what we’ve been shown up to this point. You may not want to watch this at work, because there are elements that are definitely NSFW here, but I highly recommend that you check out this trailer, especially if you’re on the fence about seeing the film. Even with LaBeouf’s sort-of-ridiculous Southern accent, it still looks fantastic. Watch it below! -

Initially operating under the name The Wettest County in the World, John Hillcoat’s Lawless is finally about to arrive in theaters after a years-long development process. The film follows the adventures of three bootlegging brothers and was once set to star Ryan Gosling, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, and Paul Dano, but ultimately settled on an equally-impressive A-list cast of Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, and more. In these five new clips from the film, we get a sense of the tough-as-nails Bondurant family as they’re threatened, propositioned, and come up with a creative solution to running out of gas. Check ‘em out below! -

New Trailer for 'Lawless' Highlights Country Violence

Shia LaBeouf. Gary Oldman. Jason Clarke. Guy Pearce. Tom Hardy. Jessica Chastain. Mia Wasikowska. This is a modern day acting dream team, and they all star in one film coming out this summer. In this new trailer for Lawless, Hardy, Clarke, and LaBeouf play bootlegging brothers who get into all sorts of trouble with the law when they realize they can make a ton of money selling alcohol during Prohibition. It’s a blend of high-brow drama and gangster action, and it looks pretty damn awesome. 2012 is shaping up to be the best year at the movies in a long time, so check out the trailer below and get excited – we’re only halfway through the year!
