The True Blood panel kicked off with a new trailer, which contained some new footage, and now that it’s aired at Comic-Con, HBO has made it available online (see below). Cast favorite scenes, challenges, and new romances were all revealed (okay, maybe not that last one) during the panel. Here’s our report.

If that’s any indication of how funny the movie will be then get yourself to the theater August 10, 2012. Moderator Chris Hardwick (who is hysterically funny in his own right) and The Campaign stars, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, plus some incredibly charming and offbeat fans asking questions made this the funniest panel of the week.

At the Legendary Pictures portion of the Warner Bros panel the head of Legendary showed an unexpected teaser trailer of Godzilla. The footage showed a devastated landscape, broken buildings, smashed trains with bodies littered across the ground, a voice over talking about this horrible, horrible time as if it was in retrospect. We see the back of Godzilla, pan over and see lizard arms/hands – it looks like he’s dead. Then we see another shot of a very-much alive Godzilla and she’s huge, we realize that was her baby that was dead. She screams out with a horrifying cry.

It should come as no surprise that the Family Guy and American Dad Comic-Con panels were hilarious. Our recap is below; there’s spoilers ahead, so read at your own risk.

Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center erupted into a mass of screaming fans as the panel for The Vampire Diaries made it to the stage. It was a full house for this CW show that was once called a Twilight knock-off. Now it’s a prime-time vampire winner.
