With so much competition from the Internet, music videos can’t just be four guys playing onstage anymore. They have to be cinematic masterpieces that stand on their own and that can certainly be said of Passion Pit’s new video for “Constant Conversations.”

The clip, which features Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show, The Sopranos), Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love; Damsels In Distress), Taryn Manning (8 Mile, Hustle & Flow), and Roger Guenveur Smith (Do the Right Thing, American Gangster) is beautifully shot and shows the dark side behind a seemingly innocent summer get together.

However once you decipher the facial expressions of the guests it’s clear that this is really a steamy affair-laden event that features lots of whispering, secret meetings and, for some reason, snakes. Additionally the intense nature of the video is offset by the song itself which is a true indie R&B jam that’s so catchy we would still watch the video even if it just showed paint drying.
