  • Bio

More on soundcloud. Mild Green Mango Chutney, my 6th solo LP was released 15th March, 2013. I wasn't sure if I should release this one, because it relates the collapse of my relationship with my best friend. However, nobody listens to my music, so why not just release it? Hope you like it. A Single Word: I've just finished recording this album at home, my little labour of love. I'm very proud of it. I chose these songs, because they all belong together. 'Moment' was written during a blackout in H/Wycombe, UK, and is the first song and the rest carry on the story. I had no grand plan when making this record, I only knew that my emphasis would be on the words, and the feeling. Available from cdbaby, and iTunes. Ghost Town, released 14th September 2010: The follow up to A Single Word, it feels like a different record, but really these are two halves of the same thing. I've wanted to make this record for a long time, it feels good to have finished it. There are loads of musicians and poets, loads of creative people from this place, ace people. I've had four tours of duty here, the last one ending early March 2002. I didn't grow up here, but it will always feel like home. The opener 'You Stayed Home For Me', is dedicated to my lovely Dad, thanks mate. And it goes on, an Ode to a lost friend, a tale of a new one, an apology for not being in love. This album was made at home, like A Single Word, with the emphasis on the words and feeling again. I hope you feel it... ...... ..Myspace Editor.... ..Pimp MySpace.. ....

Anyone that means it, know what I mean? Course you do. In particular, John Frusciante, Nick Drake, Cat Stevens, Billy Bragg, The Who, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, Sex Pistols, Harry Nilsson, David Gray, Nirvana, Lior, Damien Rice, The Libertines, Joan Armitrading, Pink Floyd (especially their debut), loads of great stuff. New stuff as well, Cloudyhead, Vapour Trail, Black Tuesday, Sarah Jane Taylor-Morris, Sinig, Matt Stevens, Adam Jones, Andrew Peacock, Mich McManus. Getting into the early stuff as well lately, like Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Didley, Chuck Berry, brilliant. Here are a couple of reviews:(the good ones....!) "Simple, catchy melodies, and thoughtful lyrics are what Tony Alderman's known for. With a career that's taken him from the UK to Australia, this is one act from the Pre-Mosaic Music festival by Heineken Music you simply can't miss. - IS Magazine (Singapore - March 07) "Emotional and from the heart, a beautiful album. Love songs from the soul". (A SINGLE WORD) - cdbaby 2009

About me

I make my own records at home, it's very rewarding. My debut LP, A Single Word, was a labour of love. I'm very proud of it. Ghost Town finished up what I'd started, and Bartender Tales helped me to move forwards. Portland was made and written, in a rehearsal room on an H4n Zoom handy recorder, in 3 hrs. Portland was a good exercise for me, and it can be 'hit n miss', but I'm proud of it, because this LP was in some ways the one where I learnt a lot about my own creativity and sound engineering. Internet Dating Adjectives, my 5th LP, well, it feels like I've hit my stride. When I make my records, I know that my emphasis will always be on the words, and the feeling. All my LP's are available from cdbaby, and iTunes. Please have a listen at 'soundcloud', if you like what you hear here. Thanks for your time, Tony x Member Since:.. December 03, 2006..
