We will forgive you for thinking we are stupid – as a rule compilation/tribute albums are dull & pointless. To make matters worse, they are sometimes followed by a “Volume-2-type-thing” and that’s when you wonder: Why? What’s the need for this?? .... Please let us introduce our Volume-2-type-thing: ‘More Townes Van Zandt By The Great Unknown’ .... How could we resist doing another compilation when the well of stunning TVZ songs is deeper than the middle of the sea?! We also had a bunch of exceptional artists wanting to do a Townes song, who did not fit on the first album. Artists such as Phosphorescent, Neal Casal (Ryan Adams & The Cardinals), Alela Diane, Shinyribs (The Gourds), The Deep Dark Woods, Treetop Flyers and more, all featured on this new album.
