.......... ..A dying, cold world inhabited by the remnants of millennia of human strife and psychological deterioration – this is the conceptual landscape into which Demagogue deliver their musical creations. Intricacy and experimentation sit side-by-side with raging death metal and crushing heaviness, paying heed to the band’s myriad influences – traditional progressive music, classic thrash, jazz/fusion and all-out extreme metal – synthesised into a coherent and focussed soundscape. This forms the sonic bedrock for litanies of anger and despair, of a mind tormented by its very existence... ..To date, the band have two releases to their name – 2004’s four song EP ‘Nihil Obstat’ and 2006’s well-received, self-released debut album ‘Ruin’. Both recordings showcase Demagogue’s continued refinement and development of a style that they have very much made their own, a potent blend of precision musicianship and focussed fury. Live shows are the ultimate expression of the Demagogue experience, giving a physical force to the band’s approach... ..2010 sees the completion of the second full-length album ‘Armageddon Structures’. The first recording to feature new drummer Tom Huskinson, the album represents a conceptual journey of a soul projecting into a bleak, inhuman future. Musically, Demagogue take their progressive leanings and build upon them considerably, each track flowing into the next through a series of subtle segues and thematic links. With this in mind, ‘Armageddon Structures’ is very much a single story divided into chapters with the ultimate intention of taking the listener on this journey along with the band... .. ..DISCOGRAPHY.. .. 2004 – Nihil Obstat EP .. 2006 – Ruin LP .. 2010 – Armageddon Structures LP .. .. ..2010 Line-up:.. ..
