Hi all - long time since I blogged but I am going to get back into it! I recently had a really great interview with an excellent chap called Matt Kacar from Bethlehem in Pennyslyvania who runs a very good artist podcast site called Artist Connection. Check it out on www.artistconnectionpodcast.com
He is genuinely a lover of music of many kinds and his site is testimony to that. Have a listen....
Here's what he said about our interview below and you can hear the full interview by clicking on the link.

Buy our new song on iTunes - FANTASY BRIDE

    Sharon
'Sharon is the singer with the UK band The Amplifires. We recently had a very cool Sunday morning phone conversation, and I am eager to share it with you. Sharon and I are the same age and have a lot in common. We talked through the similarities of our home towns, and some of the bands that we admire. She told me how The Amplifires formed, and talked about her local music scene.
She comes from an area that has given us a lot great music through the years. Bands like ABC, Human League, Def Leppard, Arctic Monkeys and Pulp are all local to Sharon. It is nice to see how her band fits into this musical tradition. She told me about their whirlwind tour of the US back in 2009, and how great it felt to have audiences singing her lyrics back to her. We talked about their first album "Fire on the Moon" which came out in 2008, as well as their new single "Fantasy Bride". You can find the new song and much of their earlier work on iTunes.
Please check it out. I downloaded it, and have been playing it a lot over the past week.' http://artistconnectionpodcast.libsyn.com/webpage

It's always hard to juggle work, band and personal life, something we all tend to do very well usually however there will always be occaisions where this can't happen and one such time has arisen on the 20th when we are due to play at The Boardwalk in Sheffield.

I thought I could fit things in but the NHS has changed the time of a relatives hospital appointment and in spite of really wanting to play the Boardwalk I can't be in two places at once especially when they are 100 miles apart.

Hopefully Rob at The Boardwalk will sort out another date for us and we'll be playing there soon in the meantime can I apologise to everyone that said they were coming and also to the rest of the band who I think I have cheesed off a little
