Being RIGHT is based upon knowledge and experience, and is often provable.
KNOWledge comes from the past, so it is safe
It is also out of date and is the opposite of origionality.
Experience is built from solutions to old situations and problems. The old situations are probably different from the present ones, so that old situations will have to be bent to fit new problems. also the likelihood is that, if you've got the experience, you'll probably use it.
this is lazy.
Experience is the opposite of being creative.
If you can prove you are right, you're set in concrete. You cannot move with times or other people.
Being right is also being boring.
Your mind is closed.
You are not open to new ideas. You are rooted in your own rightness, which is arrogant. Arrogance is a valuable tool, but only when used very sparingly.
Worst of all,
being right has a tone of morality about it. To be anything else sounds weak or fallible, and people who are right would hate to be thought fallible.
SO: is it wrong to be right?, because people who are right are rooted in the past, rigid-minded, dull and smug.

10 of 11Morei like what you had to say, and i agree on most of it. but obviously it doesn't apply for everyone because we're all different. but i think in overall knowledge in a way destroys our beauty
knowledge is power, and knowledge of certain things helps us to understand the future. I disagree with you in what you said about people who are right are set in concrete. You can still be right with an open mind. Its all about the mindset.
made me think. A LOT.
but you're so right. good work.
You cannot be right about everything, therefore you can still have an open mind. Although, your mind may be closed to such things you believe yourself right about. On the other hand, there are those people, the ones you speak of, that are so stubborn that they believe they are right about everything. Those unchanging people do not look outside to see that there is more knowledge to be had, there is an ever changing world around us. The changes this world goes through, new scenarios that can undermine old knowledge and practicality, also change the meaning of the word "right".
So: Can any one person truly be right?
This reminds me of my philosophy class I am currently taking...
All you know is what you've been told...so you don't really know anything!
you are so right! you make perfect since. (does that make you wrong?)
but seriously, why do people try so hard to be perfect? we strive for the perfect body, perfect grades and perfect happiness, but for what reason? does it make us better people? do people care that i have a 4.0 (i dont really) no, people dont give a rats ass. why cant we just have fun in life? all i want to do is be happy and find the one i love. i dont care about being perfect. im not afraid to take chances. i have no experience in anything exept being a procrastinator. i try to have an open mind and not judge anyone or anything. i like everyones oppinions beacuse they are all different. why do people have to be so jedgemental about things that they think they know more about than you do? all i ask is that i enjoy life as it should be. i dont want to enjoy life to its fullest, cuz that means i would have to work harder, and honestly i am a very lazy being. i dont want to be rich, i dont want to be famous, all i want is to help others and to find my ultimate happiness.
hmm interesting.
i don't get it, but its making me sit here and think.
now that's out of your system
lets go run through a sunny meadow and roll around in the tall grass
i like this.
it makes you think.
thats good.

kudos friend.
