There is absolutely no truth to any speculation that SSD will be performing this summer in Europe or anytime in the foreseeable future. The fact is original vocalist David Spring "Springa" is assembling a band of hired guns to tour and rip off the public playing under the name SSD. Due to his selfish actions David Spring has officially been terminated from ALL association with the band SSD. His attempt to recreate SSD in 2008 is totally unacceptable and goes against everything the band stood for. I hope the public will not attend these shows despite the curiosity factor. It's not the REAL SSD and you'll be disappointed. It's a scam, rip-off and parody. It shouldn't surprise anybody that Springa would break ranks from the band because he was a mere passenger on a bus that gave him the best ride of his life and he can't figure out how to get back on the bus. Unfortunately his choice was the wrong choice which shouldn't surprise anybody who knows him. There is no I in team but there is an I in INTEGRITY.
The MAD Promotion team is ripping off people by promoting a copy cat sideshow parody of a classic American Hardcore Band. It's a shame that you would allow such a joke band to perform at your music festival. If you think it's cool to promote fake bands then I guess I thought more about the musical integrity of your festival Once again. This will be zero chance that you will ever get then REAL SSD or any other friends of mine who are REAL.

I am surprised at how many people know so little about SSD, hardcore or life generally. Questions like "Are they still straight edge?", "Is Springa STILL SxE" baffle me. Is JUDGE any worse becaude Mike is not edge any more? Hell no. Is "The Age Of Quarell" any less great because of the turmoil between the band members? No. Go read some books, read and watch some old interviews on the net. IN MY OPINION the legacy of great classic bands like SSD should be left alone. Take care!
(By the way Straight Edge is a personal thing, there is a strong element of a community, but you should not look down on somenoe that chooses to stop. You should look down on people who are corrupt, evil, soulless devils, and try to HELP the ones that start doing shit wrong.)

besides it's not fucking about kids getting to see real hardcore again, its an honor issue. thats a fucking stab in the back and i dont understand the difficulty in anyone seeing that. its a rip-off taking credit for shit that was never theirs in the first place. dave springa is not ssd, sdd is fucking ssd, and thats as far as it goes. whos to blame? fuck if i know.
but i do know, if springa gave a shit he could of shut that bullshit down in a second but he did'nt.
This is just as bad as jerry only fucking up the misfits reunion. I really wish there was some way you guys could get over this and talk it out. There are thousand of fans that would love to see you guys reunite. I know i know being in a band is a ton of drama in itself but damn. Al i love ya man and I really miss hearing some real hardcore. I know people are pissed and I would be too cause you have every right to be but give it some time. Maybe you guys wont feel the same way in a month or two or even 6. Heres hoping some day we get to see ya guys again! Meanwhile I will be waiting to buy Al and Springa a drink! Heres to hope!!
Whatever it was: Just received confirmation from MAD that the tour has been cancelled. Quite a shame if you ask me. So what if it wasn't the real deal? If the original band does not want to reunite for a tour a cover band with just the original singer and a bunch of other Boston boys would have been just fine. We all know that this never could have been anything close to the old days. But why should the people who never got the chance to hear those songs live not be allowed to do so now? Why? I said it before and I'll say it again: The SSD legacy is preserved in a terrible terrible way. Where is the remastered Kids-CD? Where is the remastered Get It Away-CD? Where's How We Rock and where's Break It Up? That POWER CD is so poorly done it's not even funny. No lyrics, basically no photos, no proper liner notes, no booklet to speak of at all, unbearable song order. Shame, shame, shame.
In fact, yes, the MAD promotion team is in the wrong. These guys wanted to play as Boston Hardcore Allstars. Members of Gang Green, Jerry's Kids, and Springa were going to do songs from all their bands and just have a fun time. The promoter booked these shows without Springa's premission as SSD. He is just as pissed at the promotion team as you. Thank You.
