Bio
H I P H O P til death due us part ! Hello my name is Matthew or skindeep short for rym skindeep. My love for music started at a very young age and is still a very big part of my life today Grew up in a religious family, I and my one youngest brother were sons of a preacher and missionary. I came from a large family, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I remember singing in the church quire; music was always a big part of my childhood. In a family full of musicians, I had to find my own voice. I found my voice, in Hip Hop a lot of my youth I was influenced by gospel, rock and rock, country, r&b. But times soon changed. Rap had just broken on to the scene, and it seemed like a form of music and expression that spoke to me more than the other genera' of music. For me it seemed more relatable, like it was speaking directly to me. From the beets and brakes to the arrangement's laid down on the turn tables. The M.C.'s giving respect to the D.J.'s., the lyrical content, the melody, raw grit, and soul almost poured out on to the track, W/ smooth hard bass lines, rhythms and words spoken from the heart of experience. The only instruments were one voice, the M.C., D.J. the beet, and the mic. Cats' run-in round w/ ghetto boxes on their shoulders just blasten it, volume only one setting max. I could feel the words as if the artist was talking to me, and for a brief short time. We were all bought in to their world if just for that moment. These poets told a tale, and shortly after I heard that first kick, beat, hat, drum, lyric, I was hooked. I began to tell my story on the countless pages I've written on since. All I need is a pen full of ink, and paper when inspiration strikes. Funny more than 20 years ago when rap started its journey, long before it was called Hip Hop, so many people laughed and said rap wouldn't last. "Who's laughing now"? Me my friends would have Rap battles in a broken down garage, allies, parties, and parks or play dozens. Hip Hop is more than just music to me. It's become a true art form, a way to express my voice. Hip Hop is any and everyone's expression. Hip Hop is about finding your voice. Hip Hop is about being true to yourself and discovering your own idiom. Hip Hop isn't based on race, color, or religion. Hip Hop can break down blinded eyes and walls built on ignorance. Last but not least Hip Hop is for "everyone" it's today its tomorrow and has no boundaries. Hip Hop is not dead it lives in me, it's my inspiration. It's my meaning of unity for all my brothers and sisters. "EVERYONE". Another one of my brothers once told me something, he said "always come from the heart, and never say the same thing twice and people will feel that". I think about that every time I'm graced with the opportunity to step up to the mic. I'm so blessed to be able to put my words on to a track for all to hear. Share a piece of my life, my hope, and beliefs to an open mind, and an ear willing to listen. My music has a wide range of themes: Some relay hope. Others reflect the ugliness that surrounds each and every one of us on a daily basis. My songs, I hope can raise awareness, Based on facts, statistics, what seems like a cold hearted world peoples trials, tribulations, and sufferings. Topics on a broad variety & scale: My songs have lyrical depth, well thought out messages and deep morals and values. From serious subject matter, on a somber note to uplifting, and real life experiences I've undergone. Some stories from my childhood. Day to day struggles we all go through. I want to sincerely and cordially invite anyone and everyone to take a listen. See through my eyes, walk in my shoes. I genuinely appreciated yawl taken a moment of your time. Please come back anytime, all are welcome. I hope yawl enjoy the music. Close your eyes open your ears. I believe my music will speak for it self. More than that I hope it speaks to you. Thank you. Influences
All genera of music can inspire but you have to be willing to lend your eras. Good music is simply put good music. For me though, I mainly listen to Hip Hop, under ground Hip Hop old Motown, they just don't make it like that any more R&B, and last but not least Soul. Compare -
Sounds Like
It's not fair for me to sit hear and say I sound like artists who have already made a name for them selves. I do what I do for the love of music. I want people who listen to be the judge of who I sound like. Because my influence comes from so many places and genera' of music, I can't say I sound like any one or two artists in the industry. I jus hope to get my message across and that will hopefully speak for it self. One luv, yawl pc ......

A friend sticks around, they don't leave if it's been a while since they've seen or heard from you. it makes you appreciate it that much more. Many come and go, but few stay to ride out the storm w/ you.
