Siamgda returns with his second solo album "Tribal Gathering", showing development and diversity to his music with this thrilling new piece of work.
As thick in tribal drums as in dense, dark soundscapes, "Tribal Gathering" mesmerises with Siamgda's potent raw and percussive elements, ethnic Asian influence and distorted, loop-driven sequences.
Tribal and ethnic, spiritual and dark, with intricate rhythms, flowing through mystic layers of ambient textures, Siamgda has created yet another uniquely hypnotic and trancey vibe - diverse, mind-opening and unexpected.

Neti Neti - Live at Nirvana
'Live at Nirvana' is Neti Neti's debut release. The tracks where recorded during the summers of 2007 and 2008 in Berlin.
It's a unique mix of distorted tabla, skillfully played guitar and noisy soundscapes based on Indian drones.

Siamgda feat. Morty - Beach Tracks
A special collaboration between Siamgda and Morty, senior composer of mystical music, vocalist and flute player rooted in the old Persian tradition (voice, flute, self-made saxophone).
These two artists happened to meet by the sea in India, and right there created this unique synthesis of ancient, oriental, ritual, yet new and authentic 'world' sounds.

Siamgda - Samsara
"Samsara" is Siamgda's first release, a unique blend of Eastern drumming, ethnic sounds and electronic noises.
"These compositions are impressions of my living, studying and travelling as a foreigner in Nepal and India, the way I see, feel and hear life to be - colourful, mystical, rough, noisy, dark, meditative...
Transporting and melting the experience of myself and my surroundings into sound is all I do, no politics in any way!"

bio
The Siamgda project was founded in the spring of 2001 at the foothills of the Himalayas near Kathmandu, Nepal by Marc Fischer. The story of how Siamgda came into being started with quite an ordinary trip to Nepal in 2000. At that time, Marc had already been engaged in making music on another project (Störfrequenz), but had increasingly become dissatisfied with creating rhythms by electronic means only. In Nepal, he came to hear about a music university in an ancient Newar settlement of the Kathmandu Valley. It was there that he first heard the amazing sound of the Indian „Tabla“ drums. He knew immediately and beyond doubt that he wanted to learn to play these drums and eventually cross new musical boundaries. He went back home to quit his job and sell off his belongings, soon returning to Nepal. Many years of dedicated training in Indian classical music with different teachers around India and Nepal followed.
2009
The first ideas were recorded with the tabla being the rhythmic indicator and his Asian experiences his inspiration.
2010
Siamgda's first two albums "Samsara" and Siamgda feat. Morty "Beach Tracks" were published on Mind Plug Records , a label founded by Marc Fischer in order to release his own music which didn't seem fit into any existing categories.
He is also the co-founder and manager of the Golden Lotus Records label, which focusses on preserving authentic Asian music.

Grasping is the source of all our problems. Since impermanence to us spells anguish, we grasp on to things desperately, even though all things change. We are terrified of letting go, terrified, in fact, of living at all, since learning to live is learning to let go. And this is the tragedy and the irony of our struggle to hold on: Not only is it impossible, but it brings us the very pain we are seeking to avoid. The intention behind grasping may not in itself be bad; there’s nothing wrong with the desire to be happy, but what we try to grasp on to is by nature ungraspable. You cannot wash the same dirty hand twice in the same running river, and “no matter how much you squeeze a handful of sand, you will never get oil out of it.”
