My name is Sascha Schiller and I was born in September 1976 in Aachen, near to the Belgian and Netherlands border. I am playing drums for about twenty years now... I had to learn playing drums on my own, due to the fact that I never had enough money to afford any drum lessons. So I started to play along the songs of my favourite bands... Through my stepfather’s ex-band ..Axe La Chapelle.., I often had the chance to be at the band’s rehearsals and could learn from their drummer. At that time Uli Kusch (Halloween, Gamma Ray, Masterplan) was playing drums in that band and I could learn from a professional drummer. Along the lines of : "Learning by viewing!". As you can imagine it was really exciting and impressing... Within a quite short time of about two years I worked out a sufficient repertoire to do one more step, to collect my first experiences in a band. Due to the fact that I was playing in bands I got more contact to other drummers in our local scene. There were a few real good drummers I could learn from. Over the course of time I developed my own style of drumming that was, and surely still is, absolutely influenced by such great drummers like Uli Kusch, Sean Reinert, Deen Castronovo and Gene Hoglan, just to name a few... In my time as a drummer I worked with a lot of great bands and musicians and so I could gather far-reaching experience in countless shows, studio-jobs and various sessions as a guest musician. Just to mention some bands I worked with,… there’re ..Absence.., ..Mindfield.., ..Freaks On The Roof.., ..Oneiros.., ..N-Jected.. and ..Solar Fragment..... ......Since October 2005 I am the drummer of a very promising and upcoming German Powermetal band called ..Solar Fragment... Founded in 2004 the band established a very good reputation in the German underground and earned many good reviews with their first selfproduced promotional CD in 2005. In April 2007 we signed with ..Sleaszy Rider Records, Greece.. and released our debut album entitled ..A Spark Of Deity.. in November 2007.
