    "The rhythm section of Grant Leonard and Sarah Scarlata are perfection, as they manage to be precise yet flowing." - Bernard Baur, Music Connection Magazine (Live review of Rain Fur Rent) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarah Scarlata is a performer and educator with over 20 years of playing experience and has been performing in live venues since the age of 16. Originally a native New Englander, she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston before relocating to California with the violin led Celtic jam band Glider and currently resides in Los Angeles. While in California she has performed with acts such as Rain Fur Rent, Glider, Virgil Cane, Brazzaville, The Antiques, The Traditionist, Travis T. Warren, Tommi Zender, Brandon Schott, Rachel Goodrich, Judson McKinney, Anna Su and The Physics of Meaning. Specializing in styles ranging from rock, jazz, pop, alt. country, latin, fusion, funk, hip hop, rudimental and marching styles, mallet percussion, and orchestral percussion, Sarah has proven her versatility as a composer and musician. Some of her percussion compositions have been used in Universal Pictures' Tower Heist starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, the audio book release of The 33 Strategies Of War by Robert Greene, NBC's 30 Rock, TBS's Glory Daze, Style Network's Clean House, Outdoor Channel's Duck Commanders, HBO's Hung, CBS College Sports' Tony Barnhart Show and music for Gatorade's G2 website launch. She has also played drums on commercial jingles, tracks used in feature films and on network television. In between live and studio engagements, Sarah was the drumline/pit instructor at Atascadero High School from 2000-2004 and has been teaching privately since 1998. As a drumline instructor, Sarah composed two shows for The Atascadero High School's Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble for drumline and pit as well as marching cadences and drumline features. .. .. ..
