  • Bio

Singer/Songwriter Nick Dadd is an established artist on the Rockabilly scene and is a member of legendary British rockabilly band Whirlwind. Nick made his name touring and recording with The Roofraisers, a band he fronted since their formation in 2005. As well as being an extremely popular band on the live circuit, headlining at several festivals, the band also achieved international sales with their album release 'Wild At Heart', a title which continues to sell worldwide. As well as the title track Nick wrote several other songs for the album, including Red Headed Woman and Hot Shot Baby, as well as arranging the now famous rockabilly version of the Robbie Williams song She's The One. 2011 was a busy year for Nick touring with Whirlwind and perorming as far afield asSpain and Finland. Whirlwind have also been busy recording their new album 'Back Into The Storm' due for release in March 2012. Nick either wrote or cowrote all of the songs to be included. So what about the songs here on the MySpace page. Well, we've featured some of the Nick Dadd compositions from the Roofraisers "Wild At Heart" album plus some very special historical tracks. In December 2006 the Roofraisers decided to informally record a rehearsal just to listen back to the tracks featuring in their sets at the time. At the beginning of the rehearsal a basic recording set up was rigged and the record button hit before the band simply ran through 31 of the songs in their repertoire at the time. One song, one take and onto the next. Remember it was never intended to release these songs, they were merely for the band to play back in order to see how the live set was progressing. With the passing of time these tracks now form an important insight into Nicks work with the Roofraisers at the time and although the sound quality is not studio standard the tracks recorded that day are still very listenable.
