Myrkar Records is a faroese label founded by Rasmus Rasmussen in January 2011. This is a band-label in the sence that Myrkar Records only releases music related to acts that Rasmus particpates in. Rasmus was born in 1980 in Tórshavn, the capital of Faore Islands (located between Iceland, Scotland and Norway) and been in various bands since 1993. Besides from his instrumental solo-releases, Mjørkaborg is only current band. Rasmus decribes Mjørkaborg as Dark Metal Rock. Although it's more metal than rock, Rasmus also draws inspiration from his rock legacy. Bands that Rasmus has previously played in include Hatursvart, Makrel and Diatribes. All known bands on the local scene. The first full-length Mjørkaborg album is soon to be released where the lyrics are in Faroese and deal with Faroese politics and world politics and lyrically this first album is also a fight for justice and Mother Earth.
