  • Bio

Mr Bigga is a north London Producer/rapper/MC/artist. He originally started to discover his talent at the age of ten rapping, singing and playing instruments in church. Due to circumstances of poverty at the age of 15 he ended up in trouble with the law and was detained. At the establishment where he was housed they had just started a music program and installed a 16-track studio. "In that studio I honed my skills at producing and raping while also putting on shows for the other inmates promoting a really positive message. Along with 3 other guys who were always in the studio we decided to form a group or band". While in the process of doing this they were informed about an opportunity to create a piece of music for The Princes Trust. The Princes Trust needed an act to write and perform a song to go with their Royal Charter day event. The event called Yes You Can was aimed at people like Mr Bigga and his fellow inmates to give them opportunities to learn start their own businesses and basically help guide those that didn't want a life of crime. With the help of the head of the drama department Steve Butler and the prison governor Paul Manwaring the group was formed and put together a pop track called yes u can. After a few preliminary performances the as yet unnamed group were called up from their cells to go to the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington to perform the track at a business conference for The Princes Trust. The performance was a great success Mr Bigga explained "Well.... if you know how we do then you know we smashed it we had 500 grey suits going crazy they loved us". They decided to call the group XKONZ it was a joke by the prison governor but we liked it so the group was formed. After that they went back to their cells, 2 days later they got a call from The Princes Trust saying they were so impressed that they were thinking of getting us to perform at Party In The Park, Hyde park, a major event with a 100.000 audience and potential TV audience of millions. The group saw off the competition and in July 2000 the 4 ex-convicts performed at Party in the Park. Mr Bigga says "We met loads of celebs felt famous for the day and have been chasing the feeling ever since nah jokes it was a good day we met Prince Charles, Destiny's Child, Kylie, The Honeys (remember them!) Posh and Becks and Sisqo to name a few. After all the hype they have continued creating music and performing. They have currently performed many high profile shows at places like Eton, BBC Experience, Don Valley stadium, Urban Music Seminar, Cable TV, The Big Breakfast, Lewisham Peoples Day, The Arabic channel, Lambeth College, The RISE festival, Ghana Party in the Park and many more. Currently Mr Bigga has gained 2 degrees in Music Technology and Multimedia and has been working on fresh material He has also started an entertainment company R.O.A.DMAN ENT.
