Nuke and the Living Dead's Blog

I remember hanging out at Ram's Horn one day and running into Jim, Angie and Eric. I haven't seen any of them in awhile and Jim told me he got a band goin with Ralph. I had no idea how cool that band was gonna be. One of mine and Alicia's first dates was seeing the Tocic Offenders at "Good Time Charlies". The old Kal bashes, friday nights at Ralphie's...plenty of good times.The grueling summer recording sessions in the attic, the drunken ones in my old basement, the late night trips to Ram's Horn (well, those still happen). The music was exactly what I needed at that time. The scene I was playing in and the bands I knew were all Rap-Core and metal, it was cool, but needed a break from the same ol' same ol'. After seeing those guys play and seeing that there were people playing punk rock in Detroit, things haven't been the same for me since.

I never got a chance to see them live, but I do have the CD. Which lead me to Nuke and the Living Dead and seeing you guys live many times.

how could i not remember you guys helped me thru some tuff times and i remember having to turn on the distortion on jims guitar during a recording cause his foot switch went out hangin out at your house till 5 am drinkin brews and i know nuke will never forget that time we sat at the table in your living room remember the day i was supposed to stop smoking weed heh heh man i still laugh about that night ill never forget the toxic offenders .........you should do a reunion with em one day

i remember and always will buddy. those were some of the greatest days of my life. no one could possibly imagine how proud i am to be a toxic offender. and how much those days really meant. we had such simple goals back then. beer, buddies and more fun the the human body will allow. ohh and of course music. i remember the summer nights playing till 4 a.m. why the cpigs wrer never called i'll never know. this one is for you nuke, i DUG these up. i hope everyone can enjoy them. heres to us, all the good times, bad times, buddies we met along the way, and of course the great band that came after it. its was a great pleasure to be a part of it. and an even great pleasure to play along side nuke and the toxic offenders as my bands first show. the net may have forgotten. but we never will!!!

I still remember going to The Blind Pig and seeing The Toxic Offenders opening for one of our pal's bands. I remember Claire saying: "Isn't that the bass player from The Betty Fords?" Time flys. Still have the demo.....

I REMEMBER THOSE FUCKERS! back in '99 when i first met nuke his house was all painted in red he had lil' jars of fake eyes n' hands n' shit in 'em i was scared shitless! n' then i heard jim dave n' nuke...aka nuke and the toxic avengers (just kiddin lol) OFFENDERS, do a cover of skulls. AMAZING! been a fan ever since.. it was actually right around the week when famous monsters came out. i'll tell yuh that was one hell of a week, misfits new album.. n' NUKE! i heard da demo, saw 'em live, hung out with 'em fer a few different times.. i remember when jim drank that 10 year old orange juice from the big ass can...classic! DO DA J-O! (oh yeah, this is justin) shit i forgot to mention being there fer the recording of that demo. that was simply amazing as well. didn't J-O charge like a 40 or a six pack or sumthing to do that demo? lol
