About me:
Elected secretary of neighborhood association and local PTSA of middle school in 2006. Elected treasurer of Citizen Corps Council of Pierce County in 2009. Working with ESAT (Emergency Sheltering Activation Team) and PCART (Pierce County Animal Response Team) for emergency planning (co-sheltering, people and pets, and evacuation). Started grant writing for non-profits and still learning. I love linguistics and languages, have tutored & taught English as a Second Language. In the Army 74-77, computer operator, data librarian, and sharp shooter. Also working with Stand for Children, a group that is working on a state level to change education in the state for the better. I also work with LMR (Little Mischief Rescue), SARS BC (Small Animal Rescue Society of British Columbia), and the Tacoma/Pierce County Humane Society to save, foster, and transport rescue animals (mostly small rodents like mice, rats, and ferrets but others also). I am a RatsPacNW judge for pet rat shows. I sew costumes for people attending Sci-Fi conventions, 1/6th scale dolls/action figures, and ratties in rat shows. I currently have one dog, four cats, and 7 rescue rats (pets, not wild ones). Please support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They are doing research to improve the health and lives of many people, including my husband who has Friedreich's Ataxia (sort of like ALS or Lou Gehrig's, except a lot slower). Watch out for wheelchairs.Who I'd like to meet:
Bill and Melinda Gates, stars of TV show Stargate SG-1, Buffy TVS, and Battlestar Galactica. The Blue Man Group. Other people involved in Animal Rescue operations and emergency planning.Details
