Current mood:
blessed
Hi again everybody! I can’t believe I’ve broken the first of my new year’s resolutions, of writing more often on this page. A thousand apologies! I’ll tell Karnvir that he’s got to do blog duty, too. That way the writing will be more frequent!
First of all, we must say congrats to the winners of Nach, Daljit and Shaleen, for a job well-done. Naman-Megha put up a tough fight but unfortunately, in competitions, there can only be one winner and it was Jodi #11 this time.
Okay, now getting back to us! Haha! Thank you guys for all your messages and good wishes, which keep coming, even though Nach Baliye has ended. :) You are all so precious and I want you guys to know that Karnvir and I read every single mail and message we get. It gets hard to reply individually to each one so we will try to address everything in the blogs.
We received so many questions about the wild card entry, about the finale, about our overall experience with the show etc etc. First of all, I’m so sorry about the wild card. I really wish it would’ve happened. I know so many of you wanted to see us back in the show and just for that thought, I wish we could meet each of you and give you a huge hug!! :)
Karnvir and I were really looking forward to performing in the wildcard, too, but due to format changes in the show, it got cancelled. It’s ironic that all sorts of wildcard entries came into the show and the one that should’ve happened (for the eliminated jodis) didn’t work out. These things can’t be helped though, since the tv strike happened in between and threw off the whole schedule.
Several people asked if we thought we had a shot at returning, had the wildcard happened. HELL YEAH!!! :) We would’ve rocked the wildcard round! I had been practicing hard since our elim in October and Karnvir was anyways, (in Farah’s words), ‘a flawless dancer.’ (Yes, I know he’s my husband, so I’m bound to love everything about him, but he really was an inspiration on stage.) :) I learned so much by dancing with him. For every one hour he rehearsed, I practiced double. Besides competing with all the other jodis, I had to keep up with him since he’d set the bar pretty high for me. It was tough, but also a great learning process - to dance with someone who’s as good as, or better than you.
Our choreographer Beni was also fantastic, always pushing us to go beyond our limits. In our Fire/Water performance, we got the crap kicked out of us and were gasping for breath afterwards! Haha! That dance required movement, flexibility and non-stop energy. We could barely do those cartwheels at the end but managed to pull it off. We would’ve given many more performances like that, had Karnvir not injured his knee. But getting back to the wildcard, yes, it sucks that it didn’t happen.
People have asked if we’ll be seen in more dance shows. Honestly, I’m not too sure. I doubt Karnvir will. I may though. ;) I was really enjoying Nach and got a lot out of it in the 4 weeks we were there. I have always thought of Nach Baliye as India’s biggest dance show so to say I was a part of it, is a big honour for me. I became a better dancer and I loved performing with my husband. We’ll definitely be doing more stage performances but reality shows may have to take a backseat.
Well, I think I’ve written enough for one day. Next write up will come much sooner!! I mean it this time. :) If you guys have more questions, please feel free to post them, we’ll try to answer as many as we can. The show may have ended but the love we have for all you guys hasn’t. Do continue to be in touch...
With love, as always,
Teejay (and Karnvir) :)
