5 years ago i decided to start playing my own songs for audiences as a "solo artist" . Although i am technically a soloist, i do come draped in musical friends, collaborators, mentors and champions all of which are part of the recipe that results in the music you here on this page. I have been very fortunate to forge bonds with many wonderful and talented people since i set foot on this path. Some of those poeple include Tony Berg who produces with me my records. Shawn everett who engineers them. Blake Mills who is one of the most talented SOB's i know. Patrick Warren who not only is a wonderous musician but also went to med school. Quinn who is one of my favourite drummers in LA. Nicole Eva Emery who not only is a dazzling vocalist..but is a smart and sexy bitch as well (except for the fact that she's going to be a nurse istead of a fulltime rocker ;-). Zberg daughter of Tony Berg who is an absolute one of a kind..also smart sexy bitch....Look out here she comes !! Kaveh Rastagar bassist and darling extraornidare. Stuart Johnson uber talented drummer and darling double. Joe Karnes wonderful Bassist and best kind of company especially when were rapping in the car after a show on the late night drive up the 405. The Ditty Bops who undoubtably the most creative witches i know. I miss our walks !! Sasha smith keys whiz and friend from way back home. Here in the UK i am just starting out but have been fortunate enough to find Jimmy Wallace who is a delight and a wonderon the guitar. Zoe Choitis who is a greek goddess and a sultry sexy singer. These people are some, and ofcourse not all, the greatest gifts in my life. To music !! To life !!

The House That Jack Built

Jesca Hoop has lived all over the map, and her rich life experience is reflected in her distinctive voice and natural gift for inventive song craft.
Hoop learned to sing at an early age, harmonising with her musical Mormon family in northern California. She began writing highly idiosyncratic songs at the age of 14 to keep her company on her long walks to school. At 16, Hoop broke away from her strict upbringing and began what she calls her 'life as a racoon', off the grid and close to nature. Rambling through the high mountain deserts of the Southwest and along the coastlines of the Northwest, she worked as a wilderness survival guide and chalked up skills in farming, surveying, and carpentry. Her songwriting continued throughout, shared on porches, in deep river canyons and around campfires.
In 2004 the desire to share these songs on a broader scale set in. She settled in Los Angeles, where she honed her songwriting craft and developed a reputation as a unique and beguiling live performer of real substance. Though she now resides in Manchester, England, Hoop returned to Los Angeles to record her third album, The House That Jack Built.
Jesca has quite the growing collection of fans in high places: Tom Waits described her music as being "like a four sided coin. She is an old soul, like a black pearl, a good witch or red moon. Her music is like going swimming in a lake at night". Peter Gabriel took her to South America to sing with him, and in recent years she has been hand picked to play as support on tour for Eels, Andrew Bird, Punch Brothers and Elbow: Elbow's Guy Garvey even had her do a stint as guest presenter on his BBC radio show in early 2012, to great reception.
The follow up to 2009's critically acclaimed Hunting My Dress, this new record displays a striking duality: light and dark, head and heart, it juxtaposes the macabre and visceral with a disarmingly candid intimacy. The resulting combination is powerfully evocative, with overarching themes of biology, nature and humanity - Hoop's stone-turning observations are mired in the equal beauty and violence of a nature that, for her, is clearly red in tooth and claw.

I love you dearly and deeply and this is why I have to say this.
Kismet and Hunting my dress were, collectively, some of the most brilliant song writing I have heard in ages.
It put you  in the pantheon with Kate Bush in my opinion and I assume you know that is a very great honor.
I hate to say this but the latest offering felt rushed.
As if trying to capitalize instead of creating truth from the heart, which is what you do best .
There are moments of brilliance but the whole does not hold a candle to your potential.
I reminds me of  your own song
"Money money makes the world go round
money money’ll make you change your sound
    if the price is right
    if the price is right".
I hope that is not the case as you are one of the most gifted songwriters this world has ever known.
    You move me deeply.
I hope for your next venture you take your time and let it mature, let it grow.
    You are an amazing artist.
There is no need to rush your brilliance.
    Let it grow and shine.
No matter what, your music has left a permanent mark on my heart, soul and memory and I thank you very much for that.
You are an amazing talent and I can't wait to hear what you come up with next.
    Thank you.
