Bio
“With insightful lyrics and a caramel-coated voice to make any girl swoon, David Disharoon backs up his songs with guitar chops enough to earn the respect of the guys. It’s easy to compare the Georgia native’s work to the hooks of John Mayer’s early years, as well as recognize a hint of Jason Mraz‘s playful, romantic side and the sweet sincerity of Brad Paisley. If David’s debut EP Moonlight Impressions: Of Life and Love is any indication of his future, he has the potential to stand among those greats of sensitive male pop.” – Heather Miller-Rodriguez, ReviewYou “My desire,” says David Disharoon, “is to make music that is both listenable and memorable – songs that will become ingrained into listeners’ lives.” Though he cites an array of diverse musical influences, Disharoon’s own songs blend elements of pop, soul, and country into refreshing, acoustic-based soundscapes held together by intelligent lyrics and earnest emotion. In June 2010, Disharoon released his debut album, Moonlight Impressions: Of Life and Love, an eight-song record that explores just what you would expect….life and love, something we all have in common. “When writing for this record my inspiration came from real events and observations from my own life,” says Disharoon, “and my goal was to try and convey those feelings and emotions I had experienced in a way that listeners could relate to.” Following the album release, Disharoon hit the road like so many other artists before him, in support of his music and passion playing coffeehouses, cafés, bars, bookstores, colleges and festivals – and just about anywhere else that would have him. When asked about his most memorable performance to date he cites 343 for Kids, the brainchild of a local Atlanta charity that gathered artists from across the country to raise awareness for their organization while simultaneously breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest concert by multiple artists. “It was a lot of fun,” he shares, “there was definitely an excitement in the air about being a part of something so big and so meaningful.” David is currently writing and recording for an EP that is expected to be released in spring of 2011. -
