(Portland, Oregon) - Blackwerdz Studios unveils new rock radio outlet - The Chronicles Of Rock Radio - gearing up to broadcast 24/7 programming via World Wide Web by Summer of 2011. With a different approach to traditional radio and the ability for listeners to support rock from several different genres, TCOR will focus on the Northwest market first, with plans for global domination by year’s end. Creator and producer of The Chronicles Of Rock Radio, Rod Black explains:

“We have published, performed, promoted and supported rock & metal in Oregon since 1992 and see the frustration of music fans building on many levels. It seems the scene is caught in a catch 22 scenario, and we simply want to offer a new outlet for fans of the genre to be a part of the rebuilding process. We know this frustration isn’t limited to Oregon and plan to take this brand global by 2012. TCOR will focus on local artists first while also supporting National content. I feel there needs to be a bit of balance between the two.

Everybody seems to be asking us the standard FM question - We feel that as long as we offer that live listener-to-jock connection on TCOR, there is really no need to use the FM radio vehicle. The internet is the future, and as long as apps are available, and momentum toward outlets like XM exist, there are no limits to what we can do to support rock, metal, punk, industrial, alternative and every other rock genre. We supported KUFO as Oregon’s hard rock radio station for years, but it’s choice to roll over to talk radio was, just that...it’s choice (for whatever reason). We will continue to carry the rock torch for this area and beyond, and we are doing it in a much more open-minded and heavier direction than they did.”

TCOR will focus its weekly format on specialty shows to funnel audiences into their favorite rock genres. Listeners will be able to tune in on a specific day and time to listen to Death Metal programming, for instance, or another date & time to hear Punk or Classic Rock. Specialty programs on TCOR will include (just to name a few) “The Pit,” supporting speed & trash metal, “Wire Virus,” giving industrial and electro-core fans a new outlet, and “Brass Knuckles,” stomping eardrums with 2 hours of classic and current punk rock played twice per week. The listener will get to choose by tuning into a calendar format, and with the technology (cell phones and stand-alone computer applications) they will be able to listen to their favorite show on a repeat basis if they choose. Listeners will also have the ability to tune-in for regular reviews, interviews, an updated concert calendar - ALL with simultaneous studio-cam streaming video and podcasts. There is really no limit to what can and WILL be done with The Chronicles Of Rock.

On a promotional level, TCOR will also focus on special events and concerts that bring awareness to rock & metal fans. From the FIGHT FOR ROCK charity campaign incorporating the MMA & Boxing world, to the MUSIC FOR MILITARY brand, which supports U.S. troops with rock-related care packages, TCOR wants to show the masses that rock can and DOES make a difference. Supporting the genre on a local level is crucial to the foundation of music everywhere.
