After such an ordeal some people wonder why I haven't given up.... my life as I once knew it has changed. I will more than likely never be the same person I was before, just better! Because I now  know I have choices, my glass is not half empty it is half full & I will not be happy until I have reached my goal. FULL
The way I look at life after my accident:I'm living inside one big dream and I'm trying my damndest not to make it into a nightmare.You control your future, live for the day and make the best of it. Friends come  and go but, you can always count on the constant in your life, God and your Mom.They certainly have been there for me, I am living proof you can achieve anything that you set your beliefs on. Your Mom  will become your best friend, (or your worst critic) when there is no one else around Thank you!  God for giving me the courage to do the things I'm doing, and Mom for always believing in me!

Hi I'm Alexandra I'm 23 years old, my birthday is March 9 1984. Pisces rule! I like going to the gym, I love working out, hanging with my friends, and family. I used to love to play soccer, but that all changed April 3, 2003. I was in a bad car accident that took the life of my best friend (God rest her soul) TMM. I'll carry you in my heart forever. This accident also left me in a coma for 3&1/2 weeks in a vegitated state for another 7 weeks. With a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). My total hospital stay was almost 5 months. Chances for a full recovery were very abismal. I was left with left side paralyses & wheelchair bound. Through many months/years of rehabilitation mixed with alot of determination & courage along w/alot of love, I can now walk on my own. But I still have a long way to go. I belive God has a plan for me....... Of course my friends will never let me forget that I LOVE talking on the phone! Make sure everyone buys Super models Unlimited (magazine), cause I'm in it,(Fall issue pg 16 & 65)I was also the 1st physiclly disabled person to enter the USA state pageant. The accident has chaged my life more for the good than the bad, Ive been able to use my disabilities to help others in the same position, to show them it is possible to go on with your life. I've been in many magazines, papers, been on TV I have new friends that I never would have&nbsp; had B4. I got My job back @ the psychiatrc Hospital, made new friends there Jasmin you rock Girl(Crowbar anyone? That's my girl <3 ya)&nbsp; got a chance to make up my mind on what I wanted to do w/my life (studying to be a personal trainer). You see nothing is as bad as it seem's, maybe I was headed in the wrong direction. Things happen for a reason they say, you know what? I think they were right! I have not changed on the outside, except my gait is some times a little unsteady..... I have learn't it takes a lot of determination & courage to survive in this world. I have learned compassion & how important it is to be considerate of others. I have learn't that my mother is the best friend I ever will have. I have a strong need to help others w/dissabilities, I want them to see all I have accomplished, so they don't lose hope for them selves
To me determination & courage go hand & hand Determination shows ones ability to see beyond today's challenge & into 2morrows possibilities. without courage one would be to afraid to try something new. Therefor never knowing there own limitation
